Bio
Lars Jacobsen is a no-nonsense defender who takes no prisoners in the tackle and is difficult for any opposing winger to get past. Jacobsen, who is now 30, began his career in 1996 as a youngster with Danish side Odense Boldklub where he spent six years at the club and shared some great moments with the club as they won their first trophy in nine years, as they won the 2002 Danish Cup. After his impressive displays for OB, German side Hamburg moved for the right back, but his spell in Germany was unsuccessful and he soon returned to his homeland with a move to FC Copenhagen. Jacobsen quickly established himself in the starting line-up for Copenhagen and hem made well over 100 appearances in three seasons at the club. The defender's exceptional form with the Danish club earned him a move abroad once again with FC Nuremburg of Germany, but injuries and lack of form soon meant he left the club and he signed with English Premier League side Everton in August 2008. Once again injuries hampered any success and he was snapped up by Blackburn in June 2009, where he has since gone on to prove an important first-team player at Ewood Park. After earning his first cap for Denmark at the age of 26, Jacobsen has accumulated over 30 appearances for his country.
